You will find Oppdal, Norway's largest ski area, 120km from Trondheim (Norway's third city and where all its Kings are crowned) and 400km from Oslo. Nestled in a valley this area is ideal for great snow conditions and a long season.
Oppdal has something for everyone- the ski school is one of the best in Norway and the beginners slopes are easy and varied for easy progression. Intermediates will be able to ski the whole mountain apart from some of the steepest sections. The Hovden area is great experts- there are some furiously steep pisted slopes there. There is also plenty of off piste action- especially when the powder is raining- which it does with some frequency.
There is also plenty to do in the town itself and the nightlife gets quite hectic; especially in late March and May, when the skiing is best.
