With an international reputation of excellence, a British Association of Snowsports Instructors (BASI) qualification is your passport to worldwide employment in the industry.
Founded in 1963 and a member of the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA) since 1964, BASI is an established and certified organisation, offering professional snowsport instruction in the UK. With such a distinguished international reputation, a qualification will provide you with the ability to instruct all over the world. BASI Courses
There are courses in five different disciplines to choose from and for each, there are several levels of qualification to distinguish the standard of teaching. The courses and levels on offer are as follows:
• Alpine (Level 1 & 2 Instructor, Ski Teacher ISIA, Ski Teacher Diploma)
• Snowboard (Level 1 & 2 Instructor, Ski Teacher ISIA)
• Nordic Cross Country (Ski Instructor, Ski Teacher ISIA)
• Telemark (Level 1 & 2 Instructor, Ski Teacher ISIA)
• Adaptive (Ski Instructor, Ski Teacher)

BASI Trainers
The course teachers all have an International Ski Teacher Diploma (ISTD) and International Ski Instructor's Association (ISIA) qualifications, making them trained at the highest international level. Not only that but trainers are constantly kept up to date with the latest ski developments through regular workshops, training sessions and participation at an annual trainers' conference, keeping you in safe hands!
BASI Locations
The training bases for BASI qualifications are situated in some of the greatest areas around the world such as Switzerland's Zermatt and France's Val D’Isere, giving trainees the best possible learning experience. Programmes currently run in France, Andorra, USA, Switzerland, Italy, the UK, Austria, Argentina and New Zealand, with new locations always being considered. Students will be required to have accommodation close enough to ensure attendance and a typical day can run from 9am right to 7:30pm. For anybody having difficulty finding suitable accommodation, basic packages are available.
