Best for snow-sure slopes - Cervinia is Italy's highest resort sitting at 2,050m and it has a glacier skiing on the Plateau Rosa. Other snow-sure Italian resorts include Passo Tonale (1,883m), Sestriere (2,035m) and Livigno (1,816m).
Best for families - Popular with families and great for first time skiers, Passo Tonale is a good choice for families. Madonna di Campiglio, Pila, Kronplatz, Champoluc and Selva.
Best for après - Cervinia, Sauze d'Oulx, Courmayeur and the tax free haven of Livigno are the top resorts to go to if you are looking for a lively après scene.
Best for groups - We have a selection of catered chalets and chalet hotels in Selva, Sauze d'Oulx and Canazei that are ideal for groups. If it's an 'all-rounder' resort you are looking for, then Cortina and Cervinia are also good options.

Ski areas in Italy
The Milky Way area combines Montgenevre (France), Sestriere, Sansicario, Sauze d’Oulx and Claviere and boasts 400km of runs. The Dolomites Super Ski area contains 12 snow sure ski reosrts that offer over 1200km of runs, ski resorts in this area include Siusi, Alta Badia, Arraba, Kronplatz, Cortina, Val Gardena, and Val di Fassa.
Snow conditions in Italy
Ski resorts in Italy have a great snow record and reliably piste quality. Some of the high altitude resorts, such as Cervinia, are snow-sure resorts and offer skiing nearly all year around.
Italy boasts many high altitude ski resorts making many of the resorts snow-sure. With ski slopes up to 3480m Cervinia is one of the most snow-sure Italian resorts. The Dolomite Mountain Range offers 18 peaks over 3000m high making it a popular region if you desire a snow guaranteed ski resort.
Après ski in Italy
Livigno has the most bars in any other ski resort in the world. This après haven has about 150 bars in total, so there is something for everyone. We recommend The Kuhstall, Mikey’s Pub and Jpioca as a starting point!
Sauze d’Oulx is known for its active nightlife, late nights and cheap prices. Paddy McGinty’s is great for a pint or Banditos for a dance.

Italy has great selection of hotels and chalet hotels across ski resorts. Hotels are a popular option as they offer fantastic hospitality and cuisine. We do offer several catered chalets that are run in the same way as chalets in France or Austria, these offer great value and an informal alternative. There are also apartment options if you are looking to do a self-catering ski holiday.
